From the convergence of three musicians with rich artistic journeys, a musical project of exchange and research was born, featuring original compositions and arrangements alongside magnificent pieces from the jazz tradition both standards and originals.
Love Song for Elvin is the title of the album that drummer and trio founder Laura Klain dedicated to the great American drummer Elvin Jones and, simultaneously, to one of the greatest loves of her life: her cat Elvin “The Jazz Cat,” who passed away prematurely at the age of six. She joyfully toured the world with him for many live shows.
The ensemble consists of Gianluca Manfredonia on vibraphone, Ares Tavolazzi on double bass and electric bass, and Laura Klain on drums.

The ‘Drop The Bop’ project based on the extemporaneity of jazz, taking it beyond the ‘Bop era’. travelling through the various musical genres without distinctive boundaries and barriers. Through interplay with the other members, the concert is created in the present moment.
Referring to great authors and masters of life such as Ekhart Tolle, with his bestseller, ‘the power of now’, he develops a musical concept based on the same principles. He invites the audience on a journey into music created and inspired in the present moment.
The line-up consists of Vincenzo Setta on Sax and effects, Ivano Leva on Piano and Electronic Keyboards and Laura Klain on Drums and Percussion.

Shorter in Blue is a tribute to the compositional and lexical figure of Wayne Shorter, with a particular focus on his output in the years from 1964 to 1970, those in which he churned out authentic masterpieces such as Night Dreamer, JuJu, Speak No Evil, Adam’s Apple and many others for the US Blue Note Records label.

“Mi ha aiutato Paolo Fresu, un uomo e un musicista fantastico del quale sono innamorata da sempre, che credo di aver scoperto prima ancora che il mondo della musica si accorgesse di lui. Io volevo Chet Baker; avevo fatto un disco in America con i più grandi avendo potuto collaborare con George Benson, Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans. Mi mancava Chet. Quando ho sentito la tromba di Paolo, mi ha preso il cuore. Queste musiciste – aggiunge Ornella – sono davvero eccezionali e il fatto che siano donne è un valore aggiunto. Sarà bellissimo essere sul palco insieme”.
